How To Help My Child

One parent notice her child is struggling, then to be told this child may never graduate from high school how do you do. Of course your in shock because you think your child is functioning properly at home.http://www.ncldtalks.org/Only to discover my child has a learning disability. Set a goal like if the child has trouble tying their sneakers, buy shoes with velcro or keep it tied and slip them on. Using trial and error reward the victories.

NOT FIT TO BE TESTED

FIVE WEEKS OF TEST PREPARATION AND THEY'RE STILL NOT READY TO TAKE THE TEST BECASUSE OF LOW SELF ESTEEEM. THE WEEK HAS FINALLY COME TO TAKE THE OFFICIAL NYS MATH TEST AND THEY ARE STILL NOT ACADEMICALLY READY NOR DO THEY HAVE THE CONFIDENCE TO TACKLE THE TESTS.

Are Kids Stupid?

I work in a Special Education room. Some students I feel were misevaluated because of behavior and not academics. I don't consider emotional impairment a disability. I think it's another name for temper tantrum.

Observing Students Disabilites

Individualized Education Program otherwise own as (IEP) this describes the educational and needs for each student. Each child receives special education and related services design to reach their goal. The IEP creates an opportunity for teachers, parents, school administrators, related services personnel and students to work together to improve educational results for children with disabilities.

Learning Disabilities

Students are treated differently from the "normal" people. For instance,using or seeing too many words at one time causes the mind to shut down. Students have to take information in smaller portions. Some students depending on the severity of their disability may need one on one assistance.
