CARYN JOHNSON

I chose to speak about an actress, comedian and we have all grown to love. Yes, her name is Whoopi Goldberg. She grew up in New York with her mother and brother. The theatre has always been her dream. Whoopi find out she is dyslexic as an adult. www.achievement.org/autodoc/page/gol0int-2I found that ironic because I also am dyslexic and didn't know until I was in college. We both never let this stop us from reaching our goals in life.

How LD impacts individuals

Children more so adults isolate themselves from society when they feel depressed. This is due to feeling left out of everday discussions due to lack of understanding. Alone because no one understands what they are going through. LDWorldwide.org Ashamed of the types of difficulties they struggle with attention and/or memory spand. The worst is fear that others may think that they are stupid or incapable. Which causes fear of failure, criticism, ridicule of rejection.

If someone takes too long to answer a question he would blurt it out. From time to time it can be frustrating when presenting a new topic. We can express ourselves if your watching

The first way as children we learn to express ourselves by repeating what others do. As we get older it is up to us to show the world by writing. http://www.ldoline.org/ Our road to learning to slower than some. My students have to write on different genres every month, by surprise they finish before the other fourth grade classes. In this they learn to edit the paper, check for spelling & vocabulary. Most of all how to organize their essay in sequence. When they complete the assignment everyone jumps for joy.
